JDI released a transparent fingerprint recognition module that can be directly embedded in the LCD panel

JDI is primarily known for its displays, but the company is diversifying and has just released its first fingerprint recognition module based on its capacitive touch technology that makes the fingerprint reader transparent and future-proof smart phone.

Traditional fingerprinting modules are made of silicon and are not transparent, and the recent additions to the vivo X20 Plus UD handsets have been to put them behind the screen using Synaptics technology.

JDI's transparent fingerprint recognition module, however, uses JDI's Pixel Eyes technology, which enables capacitive touch sensors to be embedded directly into the LCD panel. The company has increased sensor sensitivity to detect fingerprints and the sensor's height, Transparent glass substrate so you do not have to be behind a screen to achieve the same functionality as the Synaptics sensor used in the Vivo X20 Plus UD.

JDI will introduce a sensor measuring 8 x 8mm (160 x 160 pixels, 508dpi) and begin shipping in March next year. JDI will make larger and smaller sensors and look forward to manufacturing flexible sensors in the future.
