It is reported that in 2017, the number of applications for invention patents in China was 1,382,000, an increase of 14.2% over the same period of 2007. A total of 42,000 invention patents were granted, of which 327,000 were domestic invention patents, an increase of 8.2% over the same period of last year.
In the domestic invention patent authorization, job creation was 304,000, accounting for 92.8%; non-service invention was 23,000, accounting for 7.2%.
In 2017, the top 10 enterprises (excluding Hong Kong, Maucao and Taiwan) granted invention patents in China were: State Grid Corporation of China (3,622), Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (3,293), China Petrochemical Company Limited (2,567) , BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd. (1,845), ZTE Corporation (1,699), Lenovo (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (1,454), Zhuhai Gree Electric Appliances Co., Ltd. (1,273), Guangdong Opal Mobile Communications Limited (1,222), PetroChina Company Limited (1,008) and Semiconductor Manufacturing International (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (862).
It should be noted that, in 2016, with 871 patents for invention patents, Gree ranked seventh in the national rankings and became the only listed household appliance enterprise since the release of this list. In 2017, with 1273 invention patents Authorized again to list, continue to rank the appliance industry first.Review 2017, Gree also led the establishment of China's first air conditioning industry intellectual property alliance.
As of the end of 2017, the total number of invention patents in China (excluding Hong Kong, Maucao and Taiwan) totaled 1.356 million and the number of invention patents per 10,000 population reached 9.8. China's top 10 provinces (regions and municipalities) of invention patent ownership per 10,000 population ) Followed by Beijing (94.5), Shanghai (41.5), Jiangsu (22.5), Zhejiang (19.7), Guangdong (19.0), Tianjin (18.3), Shaanxi (8.9), Fujian ), Anhui (7.7) and Liaoning (7.6).
In 2017, the State Intellectual Property Office handled a total of 51,000 PCT international patent applications, an increase of 12.5% over the same period of last year, of which 48,000 came from the PRC, an increase of 12.5% over the same period of last year.
In 2017, there were 7 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) with over 1,000 PCT international patent applications, followed by Guangdong (26,800), Beijing (05,100), Jiangsu (04,600), Shanghai (21,100) , Shandong (0.17 million), Zhejiang (0.14 million) and Hubei (0.13 million). The above-mentioned seven provinces and municipalities account for more than 90% of the domestic PCT international patent applications.
According to Hu Wenhui, spokesman for the State Intellectual Property Office and director of the Office of the State Intellectual Property Office, starting from 2018, the SIPO will no longer publish the ranking of applications for invention patents by domestic enterprises, but will continue to publish the ranking of the amount of invention patents granted by domestic enterprises.
