On January 16, 2018, Synology introduced two new 4-Bay 1U Rack NAS RackStation RS818 + / RS818RP + and one RX418 Memory Expander.
The two rack NASs feature a 2.4GHz quad-core Atom processor with AES-NI hardware encryption engine, an optional 10GbE NIC with 2GB DDR3 memory (dual channel expandable to 16GB) and PCIe 2.0 slots, Over 1099MB / s read speed.
The RS818 + / RS818RP + is equipped with four 1GbE LAN ports for link aggregation and failover, and the RS818RP + is equipped with redundant power supplies to improve service continuity. The two rackmount NAS comes with four 2.5 / 3.5-inch SATA hard drives Bit, and can further expand the number of hard disk through the RX418 expansion unit (up to 8 hard disk bits).
The RS818 + / RS818RP + are certified with VMware, Citrix, Microsoft Hyper-V, and OpenStack Cinder for seamless integration into the company's virtualized environment.
