The UK plans to eliminate all unnecessary plastic trash within 25 years

In a speech to be published later on Thursday, British Prime Minister Theresa May promises to eliminate all avoidable plastic waste within 25 years as part of her long-term plan to promote environmental protection, Reuters reported.

Avoidable plastic trash is used by the industry to describe the packaging, including plastic bags, straws, coffee beaters, soda bottles and most food packaging. The British government hopes to eliminate all avoidable plastic garbage by 2042.

It is reported that May will list government plans in his speech, including the plastic bag charges extended to all retailers (previously less than 250 small retailers may charge), hoping to introduce non-plastic supermarket goods channel, and Ready to invest more money to support plastic innovation.

Earlier it was reported that the UK produces about 2.2 million tons of plastic garbage per year, including plastic bottles, film packaging for fresh food, etc. It exports about 800,000 tons of plastic garbage each year, of which about 500,000 tons are destined for China and Hong Kong.

China officially launched the new law on January 1, 2018, banning the import of so-called 'foreign rubbish.' The ban has made Britain 'caught off guard' and has to face the problem of how to digest and dispose of the rubbish.

The UK Recycling Association said that at present Britain is not yet capable of handling most of the waste.
