Clariant senior management team and Sinopec team signed an agreement in Beijing
Clariant, the world's leading maker of specialty chemicals, announced that it has signed two major agreements with SINOPEC, China's largest petrochemical company, which signed the agreement on September 27, 2017 in Beijing.
The first agreement is FCAS series of adsorbent cooperation agreement, China Petrochemical authorized Clariant to use S-Zorb FCAS series of adsorbent formulations. This global cooperation agreement enables Clariant to expand its catalyst product portfolio to promote low-sulfur gasoline business Production.
The second agreement is a fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) agency agreement between China Petrochemical Catalyst Corporation (SCC) and Clariant Qatar, which provides that Clariant Qatar will become the FCC catalyst for Sinopec in Qatar Refinery Agents.
FCC FCC naphtha is an important component of gasoline products, however, sulfur content of naphtha is typically as high as 2,000 ppm wt, whereas for country five specifications, sulfur content is less than 10 ppm wt, Desulphurization is a common method of removing naphtha sulfur, but it requires large amounts of hydrogen and also depletes the research octane number (RON). In contrast, the S-Zorb process uses a catalyst to absorb all of the sulfur in FCC gasoline Which ensures a high RON retention and liquid yield. In addition, the one-step process eliminates the need for recirculation and drastically reduces hydrogen consumption, making these S-Zorb technologies the ideal technology for upgrading gasoline in China, Four (equivalent to Europe four) and five (equivalent to Europe five) oil standards.
Clariant has partnered with Sinopec since 2001 to supply S-Zorb catalysts for the production of low-sulfur gasoline to more than 25 plants in China and the United States. Of all the results, the process technology and related catalysts Demonstrated its superior performance in clean energy production and emission control.
Mr Ma Yongsheng, Senior Vice President of SINOPEC Group, commented: "Working with a highly respected and trustworthy innovative catalyst partner is crucial to Sinopec's oil upgrading technology. Ryan (including its predecessor, Southern Chemie) has established a successful partnership, but we are pleased to continue and further expand our partnership. '
Stefan Heuser, Clariant's senior vice president and general manager of Catalyst Business Unit, welcomed the agreement and said: 'Since 2001, we have maintained a successful partnership with Sinopec Corp., for which we are deeply involved We are very pleased to be able to further strengthen our relationship through this agreement, and as a leading catalyst supplier in the field of fuel upgrading, we are committed to creating value and driving innovation through sustainable development.
