Eat more salmon anti-vision loss

A recent US study found that regular eating salmon, sardines and mackerel can prevent vision loss and decline of the above three kinds of oily fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids, can promote the regulation of vision of eye cells to survive, prevent the growth of age Vision and other causes of decreased vision.

The retina is a thin layer of tissue located behind the eye that converts light into a signal that is sent to the brain where it is resolved to visualize it. Retinal damage results in macular degeneration, which becomes the major cause of vision loss with age the reason.

Researchers at Louisiana State University in the United States exposed retinal cells of human and living mice to continuous light, which were protected from damage in experiments by the cells being pre-supplemented with omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids.

The lead author of the study, Professor Nicholas Bazan of Louisiana State University, said: 'Our results show that Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for the pretreatment and protection of retinal cell injury.' This discovery is likely to lead to a series of New therapy for retinal degenerative diseases.
