Intel publishes Core H mobile processors in collaboration with AMD

Intel officially publishes the eighth generation Core H mobile processor of the built in AMD Radeon RX Vega GPU, and plans to supply a total of 5 Core i7 and i5 products. This series of processors enables PC manufacturers to build smaller, faster, and more energy-saving notebook computers (NB). At CES, Dell and Hewlett-Packard (HP) are introducing NB products with this processor. According to Gamesbeat, Intel customer GPU marketing director John Webb said at a press conference that the new core H processor is equipped with high-frequency wide memory 2 (HBM2), aimed at gamers, content creators and virtual reality (VR) enthusiasts. In general, the Intel processor in lightweight NB will build Intel's Low-power GPU. With AMD or Nvidia independent display chip, the game efficiency will be more powerful, but also will increase a lot of space and cost. Because Nvidia is a threat to Intel, Intel has decided to unite its secondary enemy against the main enemy, and to build a semi-custom GPU built on the Intel processor in conjunction with its longtime rival, AMD, almost equivalent to an additional 1 concurrent processors in a space that originally had only 1 processors. The processor also uses embedded multi-slice interconnect bridging (Embedded Multi-die Interconnect Bridge; EMIB) technology, there are 1 8 channel data channels between the core H processor and the Amdradeon GPU. The EMIB connects two chips in 1 electronic packages. Due to the 8 PCI Express Gen 3 interconnect between the CPU and the GPU, the HBM2 is more than the standard GDDR5 storage power 80%. Silicon chip area is reduced by 50%. Dell's vice president and general manager, Frank Azor, said Dell's newest NB at CES had taken the processor and saved several square inches of space. Because this NB is thinner, the battery endurance is higher, but can carry more function, the efficiency is also stronger. Now only 1.7 mm thick NB can still have a powerful independent display chip function, support 9 groups of 4 K resolution screen output. Intel says NB with this processor weighs 4.6 pounds and has a battery duration of 9.3 hours. By contrast, NB weighing 6 pounds 3 years ago is not only much thicker, but only 4.7 hours of battery time.
