Hyundai Tune 2018 Global Sales Goals | Decline from 2017

Beijing January 2 news, South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor said on Tuesday that its 2018 global sales target of 4.68 million vehicles.

Hyundai Motor said in a regulatory filing that the company plans to sell 3.97 million vehicles overseas this year and 701,000 vehicles in Korea.

The company set a total sales target of 5.08 million units in 2017, but Hyundai Motor did not immediately disclose 2017 actual sales figures.

India, China market

In December, Hyundai Motor's car sales in India increased by 0.3% to 40,158 vehicles, the company's sales in the Indian market this year has exceeded the previously set goals Hyundai Motor's sales in India this year increased 5.4% To 527,320 units.

Industry observers have said recently that Hyundai and Kia Motors, the Korean automaker, have been beaten by their main rivals in the China market, and their position in the Chinese market may slip further.

Market data show that in February 2017, Geely overtook Hyundai and Kia, while the industry was partly due to the structural weakness of Hyundai-Kia and the diplomatic dispute between China and South Korea.

In 2014, Hyundai-Kia sold six times more than Geely in China, but now it lags behind its Chinese rival.

One source said: "The average price of Hyundai and Kia Motors is about twice that of its competitors in China, and Sadd's dispute with South Korea has adversely affected Hyundai-Kia (sold in China)."

Citigroup sold 1.08 million cars from January to November 2017, a figure cited by the source, which is high for Chinese carmakers over the same period, with Beijing Hyundai and Dongfeng Yueda Kia A total of 970,000 cars were sold, which means sales have dropped 38%.

Chinese (local brand) cars are cheaper, which is also reducing the number of Hyundai and Kia sales.

Asiana Financial said Hyundai-Kia Motors sales may increase by 1% in 2019.
