While the smartphone market is becoming saturated, the growth rate has been declining year by year although it has not stopped growing.Although the full screen popularity in 2017 seems to have infused new vitality into the market, the analyst firm is still not optimistic about this year's mobile phone market .
According to a forecast released by TrendForce recently, global smart phone production is expected to reach 1.53 billion units by 2018, an increase of 5% over the same period of last year, compared with a 6.5% increase in 2017 in mobile phone market.
The report notes that the strong performance of Chinese smartphone brands in 2017 drove the global smartphone production to 1.46 billion units in the previous year, an increase of 6.5% over 2016. Among them, the output of smartphones in Xiaomi increased by 76% .In addition to increasing sales channels through physical stores , Expanding in overseas markets is also contributed, such as emerging markets such as India and Indonesia. TrendForce expects millet will continue to expand overseas markets this year.
Smartphones from OPPO and Vivo are up 17.8% and 19.5% respectively from 2016, and TrendForce expects the two companies to see declines in output this year.
In contrast, the iPhone X is the hottest model in the market, but Apple's overall smartphone production last year, an increase of only 3% over 2016. Apple iPhone production this year is expected to increase by 7.5%.
