China's smart electric car built-in face, gesture recognition, CES debut

BYTON, a Chinese start-up, announced on the 2nd that it will release the new intelligent electric car for the first time at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on January 7, 2018. As a next-generation smart device, the car is designed for the upcoming Built for true sharing, smart-mobile and autonomous driving, with a test drive experience outside the Las Vegas Convention Center on January 8.

In addition to voice recognition, touch, biometrics, and the necessary physical buttons, BYTON's shared experience display includes an in-built Air Touch sensor that allows both front and rear passengers to control their screen with gestures.

It is worth mentioning that, BYTON built-in facial recognition technology, the owner, passengers do not have to open the key to open the door.

BYTON smart electric cars will be produced in Nanjing, China owned factories, is expected to start in China in 2019, 2020 into the United States, the European market.

BYTON has completed Series A financing and existing shareholders include BYTON Founding Team, Harmony Auto, Auto Investments, League Automotive Technologies, Legend Capital, China Jiangsu Industrial Investment Fund and Chengdu Group.

BYTON's core management team comes from renowned companies such as BMW, Tesla, Google and Apple with background knowledge of automotive design, automotive engineering and manufacturing, electric powertrain, smart connectivity, autonomous driving , User interface and supply chain management.

Carsten Breitfeld, CEO and co-founder of BYTON, has been with BMW for more than 20 years and in 2010 was named chief of the BMW i8 project.

BYTON's offices include Nanjing (Global Headquarters), Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Munich and Santa Clara.

Uniti One, which has an autonomous drive platform built-in NVIDIA DRIVE PX, is scheduled to ship by 2019 with two-seater, four-seater and five Seats options.
