2017 full-screen mobile phone shipments 230 million tablets

According to the latest report by market research firm Sigmaintell, the global shipments of full-screen 18: 9 panels for handsets in 2017 are expected to reach 230 million units, of which Samsung Display will account for 60% of the total.

The report pointed out that in 2017 shipments data, nearly 200 million from the second half.

Samsung is forecasting 2017 full-screen panel shipments expected to reach 137 million tablets, mainly due to Samsung Electronics and Apple's orders. Tianma Microelectronics to ship 24 million units in the second, accounting for 10%, followed by AU Optronics 17 million, BOE Technology 12 million.

The report notes that shipments of large-size full-screen panels are on the rise, notably the 5.7-inch HD + (1440x720 pixels) and 5.99-inch FHD + (2160x1080 pixels) models.

Industry insiders estimate that the penetration of full-screen smartphones in global smartphone shipments is expected to rise to 40% by 2018 as all major smartphone vendors are actively promoting full-screen handsets.
