For the full year, the global DRAM market in 2017 surged 74% compared with 2016. However, IC Insights warned that DRAM has always been a thriving industry. In 2018, Samsung and SK Hynix will have new DRAM production on-line and both companies will have generous capital expenditures, so the reversal of the DRAM economy is likely to come down in the coming years.
