France's first floating wind turbine started operation

Recently, France introduced the country's first floating wind turbine, the 'Floatgen'.

The project, located on the French West Coast near the cost of 29.5 million U.S. dollars, is France's first attempt in the field of offshore wind power, and many European companies and research institutions are actively involved. Floatgen's manufacturer representative said the wind turbine can provide electricity to 5,000 households .

Ideol, one of the companies involved in manufacturing Floatgen, Bruno Geschier, marketing manager at the company's sales department and the company that coordinates the project, said they have entered the offshore wind market with the goal of building 50 plants that can power more customers Offshore Wind Turbine.

Floating wind turbines, also known as deep-sea wind turbines, are commonly installed on floating platforms and anchored by anchors to help generate electricity with stronger, more sustainable wind power in the deep ocean. The world's first floating wind turbine Born in Norway, it is mounted on a floating platform more than 100 meters deep and anchored by three anchor cables, and today France is one of the few countries to test the use of floating wind technology.

Currently, wind power accounts for about 4% of French power, and Wind Europe, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, predicts that by 2030 France will become Germany's second largest wind power generation country immediately following Germany.
