Semtech's LoRa technology is a leading low-power wide area network (LPWAN) technology for building the IoT. LoRa technology is designed for a wide range of sensors and applications that are similar to the following: sending small amounts of change per hour over long distances Data such as climate change, pollution control, and natural disaster warning. The technology platform integrates easily into the company's existing infrastructure and provides solutions for battery-powered IoT applications. Semtech embeds LoRa technology into its chips The chips can then be embedded into products offered by IoT partners and then integrated into the LPWAN.The LPWAN network sends the data back to the application via backhaul technologies such as cellular, Ethernet, satellite or Wi-Fi server.
