Samsung Patents New | Future or Can | 'Brush Hands' | Unlock Your Phone

A recently filed Samsung patent application describes a cell phone authentication system that hides the unlock password from the palm of the user's image. When the user is pointing the camera at his or her palm, it displays some characters to indicate the full password.

At present, there are many ways to unlock mobile phones, from the very beginning of password unlocking, graphic unlocking, later Iris unlocking, fingerprint unlocking and facial unlocking, all of which are representative methods of unlocking mobile phones. As early as 2006, University of David in his publication, "Palm Print Certification," a book that no two people's palmprint is identical, the blood vessels of the palm is unique, so the palmprint can be used for biometrics.

It is unclear whether Samsung Mobile Phones will use the technology in the near future, but it's a very interesting idea to make multi-factor authentication safer or to give cell phone users a new way to help remember passwords. This also means that in the future mobile phone security technology war, Samsung may not need to imitate Apple's face recognition technology.
