Ultimaker, a 3D printer company, has unveiled two new products: the 0.25 mm print cartridge and 'Breakaway', a new 3D printing support material that, as the name implies, is easily detached from the printed part. The new Ultimaker 0.25-mm print core features an AA design specifically designed for printing high-detail and thin-walled objects on the Ultimaker 3. Dutch 3D Printing said the new print core can be used in a variety of applications including fine parts and tolerance fit components such as Printing bolts and nuts. ![]() Ultimaker recommends using its own brand of PLA, ABS, CPE, Nylon, and PP materials with the new print core, while two-color or PVA support materials (with 0.4 mm core) are available for Ultimaker 3 or Ultimaker 3 extensions. However, thanks to another new version of Ultimaker, PVA support material will soon be over. Breakaway is a new type of support material developed by the company that was designed for multi-directional 3D printing and purported to be quickly and easily removed without post-processing, leading to a successful completion. Ultimaker Breakaway works well with Ultimaker ABS, PLA, Nylon, CPE and CPE + and has longer shelf life and lower humidity sensitivity than water-soluble carrier materials such as PVA. Paul Heiden, senior vice president of product management, said: 'Before we started developing new products at Ultimaker, we made sure that there was a real need for it, whether it's hardware, software, materials, or new services. To the problem, so even though our PVA material is still a good solution for a complex geometry and internal cavity that needs support for printed matter, we found that our users also need a supporting material to use Ultimaker Breakaway, which they can rigorously Speed up post-processing and immediately use new print objects and meet the need for highly detailed printing by developing smaller nozzle-size print cartridges. |
