MediaTek, the world's second-largest maker of SoC solutions for smart phones, today announced a new partnership with Google under which MediaTek will officially support Android Oreo Go, a new product officially launched by Google this week , Specifically for a few affordable entry-level devices with less than 1GB of RAM.
MediaTek has partnered with Google to optimize some of its chips for Android Oreo Go to provide a high-quality Android experience for entry-level handsets, and now MediaTek MT6739, MT6737, MT6580 and other quad-core processors are compatible with Android Oreo Go system.

MediaTek states that the first smartphone running the Android Oreo Go system will adopt its processor and will be released globally in the first quarter of 2018. The vast majority of handsets running this system will be available in India, Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
Earlier today, Qualcomm also announced it will support Android Oreo Go. With the addition of Qualcomm and MediaTek, we believe Google will be able to roll out as many entry-level handsets as possible next year.
