Because of dissatisfaction with Qualcomm's patent fees for opaque patents, Apple has added Intel to its base band selection since the iPhone 7, even though the baseband strength of the latter is far weaker than that of Qualcomm, but this year they still receive half of the new iPhone orders.
Now that Cellular Insights, a wireless signal testing facility, delivers a detailed iPhone X baseband experience, the result is that the Qualcomm X16 is always faster than the Intel XMM7480 baseband, even though Apple is having a performance squeeze on the former.
The most obvious is that, iPhone X equipped with Qualcomm baseband version, the signal is more stable, but also much faster download speeds than the Intel version, in particular, the download speed of at least 67% faster than the latter.
Regardless of whether Apple admits or not, their speed-squeeze on QUALCOMM's baseband is an undeniable fact. Therefore, everyone should pay special attention to the iPhone X version. The A1865 is a baseband version of Qualcomm and the A1901 is an Intel baseband version.
