With the Vive X project, HTC has recently reinvested 26 companies, one of which is Neurable, which developed a brain control system for HTC Vive to get rid of the controls needed for virtual reality devices.Other important investments include eLoupes based Surgical imaging systems for light fields, monocular 4K simultaneous video streaming with QuarkVR, and Wewod location-based virtual reality technology (customers include Disney and Nintendo).
The start-up company in this project also covers many other areas, such as racing simulator, theme park, multi-player games, the underlying framework, as well as virtual reality character animation.
This makes Vive X invest in more than 80 companies and bring a better picture of HTC's strategy HTC is trying to get involved in more areas of the virtual reality industry to find more users for its head-mounted devices, some of which Venture company technology may lead to more intense competition in the industry, but it is clear that HTC believes it is worth the risk.
