China's paint imports in the first three quarters of 2017 increased by 8.7%

In the first three quarters of 2017, the import and export of coatings in China continued to increase. The import volume was 137,800 tons, an increase of 8.7% over the same period of last year. The import amount was 757 million U.S. dollars, up 0.2% over the same period of last year. The export volume was 151,500 tons, up 14.6% from the same period of last year. The export value was 4.99% Hundreds of millions of dollars, an increase of 5.9%.

The above statistics cover 32,149,000 (non-refractory coated preparations, painted surfaces, interior walls, floors, ceilings, etc. with polyester coating) in addition to the customs statistics under the 3208, 3209 and 3210 series, 32110000 Driers) and 32121000 (embossed foil) three items of data.

Among the major provinces and municipalities, the top three importers were Shanghai, Guangdong and Jiangsu, with imports of 33,900 tons, 31,300 tons and 25,500 tons respectively, up 23.1%, -1.8% and 27.4% respectively over the previous year. Imports amounted to 213 million U.S. dollars, 162 million U.S. dollars and 136 million U.S. dollars respectively, up 6.4%, -0.8% and 21.2% respectively over the previous year.

Export ranked the top three followed by Guangdong, Jiangsu and Shanghai, with exports of 58,500 tons, 28,100 tons and 23,800 tons respectively, up 14.2%, 39.4% and -2% respectively over the same period of last year; the export volume was respectively 155 million US dollar, 119 million US dollars and 113 million US dollars, an increase of -12.3%, 54.4% and -0.8%.
