Chevron Phillips Chemical Co., Ltd. officially opened two new polyethylene (PE) plants at its Old Ocean facility in Texas, USA on Friday. Representatives from Amos attended the groundbreaking ceremony .
The two plants, each named PE 40 and PE 41, each have a capacity of 500,000 tonnes / year and are part of CP Chem's $ 6 billion petrochemical project on the Gulf Coast of the United States, Two new PE installations at Old Ocean and a new ethane cracker at Cedar Bayou, Texas.
Mark Lashier, CP Chem's chairman and CEO, said: "We were announcing in 2011 that these new world-scale installations will start construction in 2014 and today we are celebrating the successful commercial launch of these installations. We can penetrate new markets to reach new customers and expand our business around the world. '
