TDK intends to 2018 production of all-solid batteries

TDK 21, press release announced that it has developed the world's first all-ceramic solid battery 'CeraCharge' with a small SMD technology for charging and discharging and is scheduled to begin mass production in the spring of 2018. CeraCharge size 4.5 × 3.2 × 1.1mm, rated voltage of 1.4V, the capacity of 100μAh, charge and discharge cycles depending on the conditions up to 1,000 times.

CeraCharge does not use liquid electrolyte (electrolyte) instead of liquid electrolyte (electrolyte), but uses ceramic solid electrolyte. Therefore, it is not necessary to worry about risk of fire, explosion and leakage of electrolyte. By using ceramic capacitors (MLCC ) Of the lamination technology, so compared with the current lithium-ion battery, have a higher energy density and smaller size.

TDK pointed out that CeraCharge can be increased in capacity and voltage in parallel and in series for applications such as IoT devices, wearables, real-time clocks, Bluetooth beacons and energy harvesting systems.

As of 8:10 am on the 22nd of Taipei, TDK soared 6.12% to JPY9,360, setting a new high of 29 months (since July 2, 2015).

According to the Nikkan Jidosha Shimbun, TDK will produce CeraCharge at its Austrian factory with a monthly output of 30,000 to 30,000.Micro-solid batteries are reported to dominate the Minsheng machine market with relatively small capacity, while Murata As for the research institutes, the solar power company is also research and development, the target is put into the market around 2019.
