Huawei, millet, OPPO and 3D sensor suppliers to discuss | follow up the face ID

iPhone X's face ID system

According to softpedia Beijing on November 19 reported that Apple iPhone only appears on the face recognition system ID, caused a different response in the industry, both people praise their safety abilities, it was claimed and Touch ID fingerprints Sensor is backwards.

However, despite a lot of uproar, Android handset makers appear to be interested in following Apple and deploying facial recognition systems for next-generation products. Allegedly, several major vendors have begun to explore various possibilities and negotiate potential cooperation with suppliers.

DigiTimes published an article saying that Huawei, OPPO and Xiaomi have been approached by a number of companies including Daruethe Solar (also producing sensors for the iPhone), Sunny Optical, Obihikuang and Wondersu Optoelectronics to negotiate for their future 3D sensor products production issues.

According to the sources, DaLi Optoelectronics may get the most orders, not only because it owns the skills, technology and manufacturing capabilities needed to produce 3D sensors for face recognition systems, but also because it is an Apple partner. Optoelectronics has a big advantage over its competitors because usually Apple contracts only with the best suppliers.

The 3D-sensing module, developed jointly by Qualcomm, Wonder King Optoelectronics and Truly Optoelectronics, has been evaluated at OPPO and Xiaomi and is expected to try to configure the 3D-aware module for handsets announced in 2018.

Analysts expect face ID feature will not be a significant upgrade, although the face ID will be applied to all iPhone models next year, which means that the Face ID feature will be available for all 2018 iPhone versions with screen size and screen technology.

In addition, Apple also plans to add capacity to other products ID features, including iPad - It is reported that 2018 version of the iPad will be borderless design.

There have been rumors that Samsung is considering configuring the flagship model with 3D-sensing technology and the first Samsung smartphone with 3D-sensing technology will be the Galaxy S9, scheduled for release next spring.
