3D Systems introduces a scalable modular plastic 3D printing platform

Recently, 3D Systems revealed a series of new products for stereolithography, powder bed metal printing, and selective laser sintering, including the SLA-based Figure 4 3D printing platform.

Figure 4 is a plastic 3D printing platform. Last year, 3D Systems demonstrated a Figure 4 demonstrator. In March this year, 3D Systems demonstrated the entire platform and today announced the addition of this additive solution.

It is a modular and scalable platform for small plastic parts that offers 15x more throughput and 20% less part cost compared to the current production Figure 4 combines 'high speed digital molding' , A 3D printing process that accelerates and simplifies the production of plastic parts in four different versions: Production, an extensible automation system with integrated post-processing and automated material transfer, Modular, a scalable and affordable system , Including automated material handling and centralized post-processing; Standalone, an industrial single-engine solution for low-volume production and rapid prototyping; Dental, a single-engine 3D printer with features designed for dental manufacturing, prototyping and At the expense of casting and design of centralized post-processing function.

All of these systems are bundled with 3D Systems' 3D Sprint and 3D Connect software 3D Sprint handles a variety of 3D printing preparations and 3D Connect is a new cloud-based solution that provides proactive and predictive maintenance for your production environment .

In addition to the system itself, 3D Systems introduced 15 new materials for Figure 4. These materials are fast to print and can be cured with bright light.

Standalone Figure 4 combinations starting at about 25,000 US dollars.
