AI smartphones can process data faster, with less power, than Smart Voice Assistants such as Siri, because on AI smartphones, these tasks are handled without a constant connection to the server.
'Machine learning technology for accurately identifying objects, speech and video is a key feature of AI smartphones,' said Kim Dong-won, a South Korea KB securities researcher who said in the future that the global handset market will be divided into 'AI' and 'non AI 'two types.
As the world's largest maker of smartphones, Samsung Electronics is also developing 'on-board AI capabilities', but the company has not yet decided to introduce these features to its Galaxy S9, released next year.
