| While 3D printing has been used in commercial displays, Volkswagen has used metal 3D printers to reduce the cost of producing spare parts. At present, Volkswagen has invested 90 metal 3D printers in 26 factories around the world.  Popular Metal 3D printers print the same parts as real spare parts, reducing the weight of spare parts and reducing the amount of scrap produced. A metal 3D printer currently produces 200 parts for a car and will reach 3,000 in the future.With the development of technology, the metal 3D printer is expected to print and produce a complete vehicle to create a limited edition car. |
