The RZ / T1 Series MPUs feature an Arm® Cortex®-R4 processor with double-precision floating-point unit (FPU) operating at up to 600 MHz with integrated real-time processing, compact memory, high-speed analog components and dual servo motors. Networked for distributed motion to meet the requirements of high-precision AC servo drive applications.
Currently, the RZ / T1 already supports many other leading encoder interfaces such as EnDat 2.2, BiSS®-C, Tamagawa and A-formatTM, etc. This time around, the new RZ / T1 release supports the HIPERFACE DSL digital encoder interface, Instead of using separate FPGAs or ASICs, the interface provides accurate position values for absolute encoders and integrates this onto the RZ / T1 to reduce component count and system cost.
With RZ / T1's own scalability capabilities, the RZ / T1 now supports most popular encoder interfaces, and this unique settable encoder interface allows customers to easily switch from a single platform device to a variety of different encoder platforms.
HIPERFACE DSL® is the leading encoder interface developed by SICK STEGMANN GmbH and HIPERFACE DSL® complies with current RS485 standards and delivers a transfer rate of 9.375 MBb. Data transfer is synchronized with the drive cycle. Between the drive electronics and the feedback system Cable up to 100 meters.
The main features of the solution package:
The HIPERFACE DSL solution package provides all the support you need to connect your RZ / T1 to the appropriate slave:
1) Encoder interface configuration parameters: Programming HIPERFACE DSL mode-driven parameters into the RZ / T1 configurable encoder interface so that it can be connected to the appropriate slave 2) Driver Code Example: API to communicate with the encoder 3) Documentation: The application notes provide the corresponding APIs and routines; the user manual can also be individually modified and expanded for the code samples.
"The HIPERFACE DSL interface on the RZ / T1 has added to our market our robust encoder technology," said Clemens Bitsch, Product Manager, HIPERFACE DSL at SICK STEGMANN GmbH. "We think the development of digital encoders is efficient and cost effective An important driver for optimizing your system is also a prerequisite for Industry 4.0.
As an advanced solution provider, Renesas Electronics is committed to supporting innovative, future-proof system architectures for AC server solutions through collaboration with technology partners.
Delivery The RZ / T1-based HIPERFACE DSL solution package will be available in December 2017. Renesas Electronics will be exhibiting at the Renesas Electronics Booth at 10.1.1 at the SPS IPC Drives show in Nuremberg, Germany, November 28-30, 2017 Hall 130 Stand) showcases the solution package.
