Softbank's fiscal second-quarter operating profit exceeded analysts' average estimate of 322 billion yen.
Second quarter results highlights:
- Revenue was 2.2251 trillion yen (about 19.462 billion U.S. dollars), up 4% from 2.1453 trillion yen in the same period of previous year.
- Operating profit was 395.566 billion yen (about 3.46 billion U.S. dollars), up 21% from 328,127 million yen in the same period of last year; operating profit margin was 17.8%, up 2.5 percentage points from 15.3% in the same period of last year;
- Softbank Vision Fund (SVF) operating profit of 810.09 billion yen (about 709 million US dollars), compared with 105.229 billion yen in the first quarter fell 23%;
- Net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company was 97.701 billion yen (about 849 million U.S. dollars), a decrease of 81% from 511.359 billion yen for the same period of last year.
- Cash flow from operating activities was 552.329 billion yen (about 4.83 billion U.S. dollars), a decrease of 28% from 762.867 billion yen in the same period of last year.

- The domestic telecommunications sector second-quarter revenue of 773.304 billion yen (about 67.64 billion US dollars), operating profit of 215.501 billion yen (about 18.85 billion US dollars), operating profit margin of 27.9%;

- Yahoo Japan's second-quarter revenue of 213.98 billion yen (about 1.872 billion US dollars), operating profit of 4.1106 billion yen (about 360 million US dollars), operating profit margin of 19.2%;
- ARM second-quarter revenue of 46.639 billion yen (about 4.08 billion US dollars), operating loss of 7.859 billion yen (about 69 million US dollars);
- Softbank Vision Fund (SVF) second-quarter operating profit of 810.09 billion yen (about 709 million US dollars), compared with 105.229 billion yen in the first quarter fell 23%.
