The world's leading technology and specialty materials company Celanese announced plans to expand its global mix of assets and production capacity of some specific product manufacturing bases to support the significant growth in its engineering materials business.
'With the global medical, automotive, consumer goods, electronics and other key industries to increase the demand for special materials, Celanese continue to work with customers, consumers around the world every day to use innovative products.' Celanese Engineering Materials Business Vice president Scott Richardson said.
'Celanese's capacity expansion plans for part of the plant, as well as the company's recent acquisition, will enable us to support our growing customer base for mixed materials, long fiber thermoplastic materials and ultra high molecular weight poly Ethylene's growing demand. 'Scott Richardson stressed.

Celanese global production expansion plan is as follows:
Mixing material capacity expansion
✦ In the Asian region, Celanese will add two production lines to its Nanjing plant in China and add a production line to its recently acquired Suzhou factory in China.
✦ In the Americas, Celanese will add two production lines to its Florence facility in Kentucky and expand the production capacity of the Bishop plant in Texas.
✦ In the European region, Celanese will add a new production line to its recently acquired Forli plant in Italy.
Celanese hopes that these new production lines and expansion will increase its mix of production capacity by about 50-60 kilotons per year, and the company also expects to increase its production capacity by 10-15 per year by eliminating existing global production line bottlenecks Ton.
Celstran long fiber thermoplastic material capacity expansion
✦ In the Americas, Celanese is adding a new Celstran long fiber thermoplastic (LFT) production line at its Venus, Minnesota facility, while improving the existing bottleneck of the plant's existing production line.
The company expects to increase capacity by 9,000 tons per year through such expansion and elimination of existing global LFT production line bottlenecks.
GUR ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene capacity expansion
✦ In the Asian region, Celanese is currently planning to set up a new GUR ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) production line at its Nanjing facility in China.
Using Celanese GUR ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene made of various types of products.
The company expects the new production line to add about 15,000 tons of GURUHMW-PE capacity per year.
The above announced projects are expected to be completed between 2018 and 2019; financial details are not currently disclosed.
