At the Fakuma 2017 show, Thomas Schmitt, Managing Director of Reifenhauser Germany, told CPRJ that the company focused on its sister company Reiloy Metall's high wear-resistant screws and barrels for extrusion and injection applications.

The company's technology products include powder production and processing, centrifugal casting and plasma powder arc welding (PTA). The screw and barrel are not only integrated in all Reifenhauser production lines, but also for other extrusion and injection molding machines.
Schmitt said Reiloy Metall produces about 24,000 sets of screws and barrels each year, with as many as 80 percent of its customers sold outside of Germany.
Reifenhäuser has undergone a series of changes this summer, first of all, the new business unit, Reifenhäuser Digital, has paved the way for its industrial 4.0 era extrusion line and service digitization.
The new department will serve as an internal incubator for all other business units within the Reifenhäuser group, managed by Dr. Benedikt Brenken, Head of Business Development, and Thomas Fett, Head of Technology Development.

Klaus Reifenhäuser has been retiring from the family business for more than 30 years and has withdrawn from the management committee of the Reifenhäuser company, who will continue to supervise his business as a partner.
Dr. Bernd Kunze and Karsten Kratz were appointed to the management committee, and the management committee now includes Bernd Reifenhäuser (CEO), Ulrich Reifenhäuser (sales), Dr. Bernd Kunze (Technology and Strategy) and Karsten Kratz (Finance).
As Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Dr. Kunze will be responsible for all technical issues within the Group and will transition the business in charge.
As Chief Financial Officer (CFO), in addition to the Group's financial business and strategy, Kratz will also be responsible for IT and regulatory work.
